Puddle of Mudd splashes into summer

After wrapping up a run of shows in Australia and entertaining US troops in the Middle East, rockers Puddle of Mudd [ tickets ] will get busy with a massive summer run.The group's North American roadtrip gets underway July 5 in Biloxi, MS, and so far comprises about three-dozen dates that stretch through the end of August. Details are included below.Holding down the opening slot on the run will be up-and-coming rockers Rev Theory.Puddle of Mudd tackles a four-show swing through Austrlia over the coming week before heading to Iraq and Kuwait for a handful of early June concerts. "When I write songs, they are either (a) really good or (b) they suck and I throw them away."?"Famous" is Puddle of Mudd's follow-up to its 2003, gold-certified sophomore set, "Life on Display.""We had a lot of time to write and then make ['Famous'], as opposed to our second record where we were writing while we were recording," bassist Doug Ardito explained in a statement. "This time, we had time to live life and have experiences to talk about."Puddle of Mudd was one of the first acts signed to Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst's label, Flawless Records. The band's 2001 debut, "Come Clean," sold more than 5 million copies and spawned four radio hits: "Control," "Drift & Die," "She Hates Me," and "Blurry," the latter of which was the most-played song of 2002, according to a press release.

In 1969, Dayton, Ohio native Stephen Shockley formed the Young Underground after exiting the Monterreys. Vocalist Mark Woods, wHO was a member of the local band the Nomads, linked up with Shockley to configuration a more mature-sounding Young Underground. The mathematical group initially had a record deal with Curtom Records as a result of fetching a talent competition in Chicago. However, Curtom folded shortly thereafter. While in Chicago the mathematical group renamed itself Lakeside Express, after the Lakeside Express Newspaper in Chicago.

In 1974 the emerging Lakeside Express and some other group by the list of Liquid Funk, which featured Dallas native Fred Alexander, Jr. on drums, arrived in Los Angeles around the same time. For the succeeding duo of years the bands performed at events around the greater L.A. surface area, at times hybridization paths. The members of Liquid Funk returned to Dallas, just Alexander remained in L.A. Lakeside, wHO by now had dropped the Express from their refer, was seeking extra personnel to solidify their striation. After two auditions, Alexander was welcomed into the mathematical group.

Into the Wild leads Actors Guild nominations

The nominations for the Screen door Actors Club Awards feature been announced with the Sean Penn-directed 'Into the Wild' leading the short list.
The film's star, Emile Hirsch, is nominated for the C. H. Best Actor awarding, with co-stars Hal Holbrook and Catherine II Keener shortlisted in the Topper Supporting Actor and Actress categories severally.
The cast of 'Into the Wild' ar likewise nominated for the Topper Hurl prize.
Shortlisted with Hirsch for Topper Worker are George VI Clooney ('Michael Clayton'), Daniel Day-Lewis ('There Will Be Blood'), Ryan Gosling ('Lars and the Real Girl') and Viggo Mortensen ('Eastern Promises').

Cowell to produce Potts Hollywood film

The tale of Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts is to be made into a Hollywood motion-picture show produced by Herb Simon Cowell.
The former Carphone Storage warehouse salesman became the unlikely star of the TV talent show with his functioning of opera classic 'Nessun Dorma'.
